The Free, Timed, Weekly run on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is launched with a bang

Great Run Local Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is launched !
Today saw the launch of the first ever FREE weekly timed run on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

As part of the legacy of the Great Newham London Run this new weekly run started with a bang!  Launched by none other than international world marathon star Mara Yamauchi it saw 50 runners complete the 5km and 20 runners do the 2km.

From total beginners right through to local club runners from East End Road Runners and View Tube runners, the event has kick started this weekly timed event. It will now continue every Sunday morning at 9.30am as a FREE , fun and family friendly 2km or 5km run through the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers that made the event happen today and to those that have signed up their help on future weeks. Without you guys events like this simply wouldn't happen !

The event would also like to thank it's funders, England Athletics, Great Run Local, Sport England, West Ham Foundation, Active People Active Park and Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club.
