Inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics?
Have you been inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics? Would you like to get more involved in disability Athletics and help grow the next generation of stars, as well as helping improve the quality of life for many other disabled youngsters through Athletics?.
We are looking for people willing to assist with organising events for people with disabilities in the region, and helping with admin tasks. The biggest gap in support for people with disabilities in Athletics isn’t in coaching or officiating, it’s in the “non sport” roles. For example it takes many hours to organise the London disability championships and currently the meeting organiser does everything from the initial publicising to organising officials to sorting entries and planning the timetable almost single handed.
If you are interested in helping disability events develop in London, please get in touch. You don't need any previous experience with disabled people, just a willingness to get involved. Also, you don’t have to commit a huge amount of time, but if you are keen to get involved on an ongoing basis it would be most useful. Someone who could help sort through entries for competitions twice a year would be invaluable.
Please send an email to athletics.coaching@hotmail.co.uk for more information without any obligation.
