Aims Our vision is to develop our clubs so that they provide sustained top quality initiation, coaching and the best possible development opportunities for enjoyment and achievement in athletics for people of all abilities and ages, including the disabled, linked with athletics occupying the highest position in schools and other sections of the local community.  We are most willing to involve other local clubs who share our vision if this is appropriate for them.

We have refined our focus across our 4 priority areas:
  • Improving the quality of coaching
  • Improving performance levels
  • Growing participation levels
  • Improving club infrastructure
Key Projects 1. Coaching
We aim to improve the quality of coaching and development by:
  • Recruiting 5 new coaches per club
  • Having at least 3 new coaches at each club complete ‘coach’ level qualification
  • Creating 3 paid coach mentoring roles at 5 clubs to ensure every coach that wants a development plan has one
  • Continue to encourage and grow the provision of coaching to athletes with a disability
  • Appoint a WLAN lead coach in each event and organise 4 master classes and 2 weekend courses for throws coaches
  • Applying athletics 365 across the network clubs
  • Providing core skills and other coaching courses

2. Improving performance levels
We aim to improve performance levels by:
  • Delivering athletics to over 7500 people of school age in communities
  • Targeting pre agreed performance improvement levels
